I can’t speak highly enough of the wonderful care my mother receives at The Abbey nursing home in Mittagong. The care and compassion of the staff are second to none. Covid was a trying time for all and management and staff bent over backwards to see that families felt connected to their loved ones when face to face visits were restricted. When mum was ill, there was never any question when it came to compassionate visits. I love visiting mum each day, I am always made to feel so welcome. Thank you to management and staff for all your wonderful care and support for mum xxx.
My personnel experience at Abbey House has always been a good one, I have worked here since 2014 as a nurse assistant and i now have an Admin Role. Makes me sad to read negative reviews. We have not had better management team than we do right now. We have very caring staff from our kitchen, cleaners etc, nurses, RNs right through to our Management. I would bring any of my family members into the Abbey if ever i needed to. I also wouldn't want to work any where else. All our residents are happy well cared for and safe here at the Abbey
I have to say that the nursing staff and carers are very good, always attend to resident needs, but some of the front desk receptionists and the DON are not as concerned with the families of the resident, especially during this COVID-19 time. I recently took some things up to my father who was waiting at the door, I gave him the items which was only for 2 minutes and said hello then the doors closed the staff member said I have to make a booking, my father looked so upset and so was I. The families have to be considered in this trying time, a few more minutes would not have mattered.
I apologise for this late review, however I would like to thank the wonderful management and staff for their care and duty to my late Aunt. We had her transferred to Abbey house from another establishment that she was always complaining about. The transfer went ahead and so did Aunt, we could walk into the room and once again see the bright smiling face that had been lost at the previous village. Once again thank you for making her last period of life as happy as one could hope for, you are all angels to us
The most extraordinary care by the kindest, most compassionate staff anywhere. The Abbey is always spotlessly clean and the staff do everything in their power to provide wonderful outings and entertainment for the residents. Donna is just so compassionate and goes above and beyond in her care for the residents and their families. Very grateful that my mother is there.
