My grateful thanks to Marita our Operations Manager for her kindness and consideration after my medical procedure. She very kindly checked up to see if I needed shopping and had everything I wanted. She also hand delivered our "Voice of the Village" magazine which was greatly appreciated. It had plenty of reading and puzzles. Thank you Marita for all your help.
During this awful pandemic, how lucky are we to have an Operations Manager who has kept the Adelene Independent residents updated with weekly memos (sometimes two) in our letterboxes telling of the latest Covid information and required restrictions. Staff have also been knocking on villa doors to say - hello, how are you. The cafe in the Hub is closed but on certain days staff will deliver coffee to those who order it. If we had to live somewhere during this pandemic then I, and others I have spoken to, are glad we live in Adelene on the Central Coast- a village where actions have shown that management care.
The rating speaks for itself. You are not allowed to have opinions or make comments on any of the services. Any communication with "Team Managers" ends up with the CEO without your permission and without your knowledge. I was hauled over the coals by the CEO for complaining about visitors to another villa parking in NO Parking area in front of my garage. I was more or less told to mind my own business and stop complaining, he had no problem with it if the visitor moved his car to let me out. I got the impression from his attitude that he was trying to intimidate and bully me to shut me up. "You are to crawl into your cell and stay quiet". I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO ASK ANYONE FOR PERMISSION TO GET IN OR OUT OR MY GARAGE. I wonder if Adelene will accept responsibility and costs for any damage to my car in trying to manoeuvre and wriggle my car into my garage. There were other issues to be dealt with, one was if my dishwasher would fit into the space. I asked a simple question, "had a dishwasher been installed into another villa with the same kitchen set-up as mine. Wow - the reply was way over the top. That was when I knew what I was dealing with. (The space is very tight). The glowing brochures and "Independent Living" I am still looking for. I hate it when rules allows for some to break and others have to adhere strictly to them. Maybe I should let my visitors also park in front of my garage. Very disappointed that I have blown the security of my own home to end up being dictated to. Unfortunately I am not in a position to move out - my own home has been sold and I have spent a few thousand dollars on this place. One good thing is my neighbours are very nice people. I will keep my fingers crossed Maybe he is trying to make sure I do not live out my 99 year lease - which he was furious about as to where I got such information from. I got it from my solicitor, and as CEO he should know.
FROM JEAN AND GRAHAM ABBOTT We have lived at Adelene Village as independent residents for six years and have never regretted the downsizing move. The Village is a not-for-profit organization. Management are most caring and happy to discuss any matters with us. When we reach the stage of needing care we are confident that Adelene can provide this. The grounds are spacious and well maintained and all maintenance matters are attended to promptly and efficiently. All staff appear happy and cheerful and always ready to help. The Independent Living residents have a community hub and café with various activities every day.
The care and attention given by administration and village staff, following a minor accident, was amazing. So reassuring to experience the very real support and care available in this active community setting. New programmes to promote health, social engagement and fun living ,further demonstrate this basis of care and concern for resident's wellbeing in this village.👍👍👍
