As part of my work in construction, I have worked in many aged care facilities, this is the only one I could say I would be happy to live in.

What we've seen of the facilities, they're excellent. There is a multi story intensive care block as well as a multi story independent living block. The recreational and restaurant facilities provided for independant living residents are generous and well thought out. Being within easy walking distance of The Pines Shopping Centre is an added bonus. The property is currently undergoing a massive expansion of its landscaped street level villas for independant living. I'll keep you posted!

Very disappointing facility, listed as high care with secure environment but refuse entry to aged people with these needs. Avoid this place - wasted 2 hours touring the facility even though I had provided the correct codes so they could check that the needs aligned with the facility capacity.

Baptcare The Orchards Community Visited on 7/5/2021 My friends and I visited the Baptcare, to have a better understanding of the independent apartment living and still under construction villas. There is a lack of green space for lawn and flower beds. It does not have lawn bowling facility, which is very popular for many seniors. The library is small, and has a not enclosed multi-media area. Being owned by a Baptist Church, it is not for multi-faith. However, the church is next to the building, and has no excuse for worshipper to turn up late due to traffic jam. It is a concern that the service fee is not fixed for life. It is increased according to CPI. For the apartments, they are comparable to other villages. The "hidden" fridge, and generous storage space. I doubt I can get use to the European style laundry as the area is rather tight for a washing machine. One feature that impresses a friend is the USB chargers and probably ethernet outlets are found on the kitchen wall next to other powerppoints. The corridors / passageways outside the rooms are very wide and can accommodate two wheeler chairs side-by-side.
