This building is a true reminder of Victoria's colonial era. A architecturally beautiful building in Camberwell that was built circa 1858. Formerly known as Tara it was the former home of three times Victorian Premier John O'Shanassy. Broughton Hall is now occupied as a Church of England Home for elderly citizens. The interior has been completely converted to accommodate 92 residents. Only the staircase and bas-relief panels, modelled as copies of Ghiberti’s Baptistry doors at Florence, remain intact.
I am continually impressed with the care, compassion and professionalism of Broughton Hall staff. I have always felt welcomed, informed and confident in their ability to problem solve the various issues arising while caring for my loved one who has resided there for over 3years. Thankyou.
Good working environment and atmosphere. Staff and residents are not only lovely but also respectful
Good quality high care aged facility. Friendly caring staff. Meat quality in meals could be improved to enable elderly residents to more easily masticate.
My first visit today. My intellectualy handicap brother in law has been here for a week and the level of care and staff appear to be wonderful. The building is beautiful.
