When my mother moved into Highgrove seven years ago, it was one of the best nursing homes in Melbourne and delivered a 5-star level of service. In recent years I have observed a drop in service levels, where I would now rate it at three stars. Examples include: • Staff shortages with permanent staff leaving and being replaced with contract staff that change regularly. Contract staff have little or no training and are not aware of the particular care needs of each resident. • Food is of poor to average quality and lacks variety. • Poorly documented resident care plan which required escalation to fix. • Bus that was used for outings was removed prior to Covid. • Resident room phone out of action for seven days even after escalation.
Best high end facility in victoria. Its luxury and comfortable. Five star for everything.
My parents have not been in Highgrove for long yet, and are only there for 6 weeks' respite/convalescence, but despite some initial frustrations getting medications sorted out to suit specific individual needs we have been very impressed by Highgrove. The staff have all been delightful and firm friendships have already been formed with other residents. The facilities and surroundings are bright, comfortable and appropriate to the needs of residents and there is a good range of activities available. Most impressive is the fact that not only did the chef come out to the dining room and ask for suggestions on improvements to the menu, but implemented worthwhile suggestions within two days!
