Did my father attend my outdoor wedding? Yes! Thanks to the awesome res manager who did everything in her power to find a solution and consider our family's unique needs. She also took my feedback seriously and took steps to resolve the issue I had experienced as follows: ------------- "I asked a simple question: Why can't my dad go to my wedding? It would have been a week post covid. The RN became combative. She raised her voice but told me to calm down. Also never answered what the law is on covid isolation and whether they have power to detain. Why? Because they don't. No one was being forced to isolate in Victoria. It's something you hope never to encounter when your loved one is at their mercy. Sadly this is not the first indiscretion. I have seen Toilet rights being denied for patients. Long story short. She hung up." -------------------- Latest update is that all this feedback has been addressed and resolved via the res manager! Thank you
Mum falling over many many times and staff never see anything. The resident Managers response "the staff can't watch everyone all the time"! WOW
Receptionist cannot be any ruder. I rang in the afternoon today and was cut off by her multiple times. I could not even finish a sentence. If she can't even listen to me, I can't imagine what she'd be like with the residents.
Management heartless My 87 year old mother suffers from advanced dementia and stayed there for respite for four weeks. We decided we would have liked her to stay permenantly so ask d if she could stay as a resident on a permanent basis. They came back with she is not suitable as at times she can have outbursts (we are talking about dementia here a lot of patients have outbursts it's part of the condition). How can a dementia patient not be suitable to stay in a dementia unit! So now my 88 year old dad is faced with looking after her until we can find her another place. The accomodation may be five star for those who can afford to pay the high costs but for those who can't are ask d to leave swiftly. Management have no heart it's all about the dollars
My Grandmother stays at this facility. I called her on her birthday to wish her well, only to discover her upset due to a new policy where residents no longer get cakes on their Birthdays. How petty must a company be to deny someone (especially one who payed a lot of money live at this aged care facility) a cake on their birthday just to save a few bucks? Just sad. Shows money is more important than the care and mental well being of their residents!
