Bupa Age Care lacks communication with residents and their families especially since covid. Standard of care has dropped considerably, some of their best caring staff have left, quality of food is appauling, being served food with paper plates, utensils, cups of tea served cold and in paper cups and sometimes no cuppas at all. Bupa is quick to raise fees when there is a Age Pension CPI increase but not increase their residents care and food quality. Yes covid has had a big impact but Bupa as an organisation is probably running at lower costs as staff numbers have reduced, food quality has declined even though the government gave them more money for this. The government has let down the age care sector but Bupa also has to be accountable and not just lock residents in their rooms and feed them on paper plates and hope they don't require nursing or any other assistance. Bupa showing facebook social pages saying look how happy they are is not a true picture. Bupa as an organisation cannot just sit back and say its all the governments fault and not do nothing..... Bupa needs to think outside the box and get residents families more involved in their loved ones daily care. Communication to residents, workers and families is required. Age care should not have been privatised making money from the elderly is so wrong when done poorly.

Bupa Aged Care Bendigo do not put their residents mental well-being as a priority. They make their own rules to suit upper management they don't seem to care that no one can visit family and they use government rules when it suits their agenda for no visitors. Can understand why they are short staffed if management treat their staff like their residents and their families. Communication is appalling by management but the staff are wonderful just not enough and they are stretched to their limit daily.
