Lovely staff, my NANA likes the service.
Fantastic
Lovely place with great staff
Four out of five stars - only because there's always that wee space for improvement in any establishment or workplace! My experience of The Mariner is a positive one. The staff are fantastic with Mum. She's encouraged to join in activities but if she doesn't want to attend there's no pressure. She can either eat in the dining room or have meals in her room - her choice & again, no pressure. If there's any change in her health or any other concerns, a staff member contacts me - day or night. The only time that I did feel the need to approach Nick regarding a concern he addressed the issue immediately. If I can't get to visit Mum over a period of time I either ring to check that she's ok or ask that I can chat with her. She doesn't want a phone in her room - but no problem, they always take the phone to her. She is comfortable, secure & well cared for. That, in turn, gives me great peace of mind.
The worst place ever to put your loved ones....they will take over completely, hand it over to the trustees, maybe so they look good but they don't realise the damage, stress etc this is causing us . Nice to your face once your loved one is in there then BANG they have full control and take your relationship away from you. They have no idea how strong mother and sons relationship has been over the years as he had to look after his mother due to fathers actions. ..I totally don't recommend anyone to put there loved ones in there, you will lose so much time with them.... There is so much more but I'm making myself sick thinking about it and it's so sad.
