My sister is currently in hospital dehydrated and malnourished as the food was so bad and usually served cold. She is bed bound and surely a decent hot enjoyable meal is not too much to expect!
Understaffed most of the time and very poor care standards. No maintenance staff on weekend so if the hot water stops working, the residents either have a cold shower or none at all until monday when maintenance are back. Residents are left in bed or are gotten up but not dressed appropriately. Very disappointed in the lack of care and management of this facility.
If you want you loved one to sit around for hours at a time in their soiled nappy while no body answers their buzzer , This is the place for you. Like party pies for dinner and green meatloaf? Look no further. Constantly understaffed and undertrained . No fault at all to some of the lovely girls that work there, more a problem of the organisation.
Desperately understaffed (1 care worker caring for 15 high needs residents.) The RNs & management have no respect for staff & only want to sell rooms. Appalling hourly rates ($21.75 per hour during the week.) If work wasn't completed during the set times, staff were forced to forgo their breaks & continue working & if progress notes were not completed by the end of the shift, staff had to work overtime without being paid. Staff were desperately unhappy & overworked, many cut corners often putting the resident's healthy & safety at risk (like not using a lifter.)
I absolutely Love going to Villa Maria the Activities Co Ordinator is So Very Wonderful and so are the other Staff who are Very Caring and always Very Happy as are the Clients. Morning Tea is always very lovely. Beautiful Place to visit...
