Lots of car park and office staff are quick to help beautiful nursing home
My Dad is here..he likes it. Sais the staff are good to him. Meals are fine. His room is large. Good outlook...
Overall, a very bad experience...a nightmare. Took him out after 1 day but asked to pay for 2 and then room was not available on day 2 so spent his time in common area till collected. Receptionist was abrupt and rude , was unprepared with paperwork for his arrival even though we arrived at the requested time, and referred to me as "she" when discussing issues with other staff in my presence. Even though premises are nicely presented, I could only give a 2 because of our experiences with some staff in responsible positions ..not what I would call "considerate", "helpful" or "welcoming" in any way☹
The hardest decision is to place loved ones in the care of others and there is no way of knowing whether you have made the right decision until the months pass. Our family's experience of our father's care has been absolutely amazing. Every aspect of the care he is receiving is outstanding and the primary carers are angels. This post is to especially thank Barbara who is the most incredible support for our father. She has provided the perfect balance of the necessary support and treating him as an individual, allowing him as much quality of life as possible. Dad has dementia and is challenging to care for daily, even though he is still very much his own person. We can't thank Barbara enough and I'm sure she is as wonderful to everyone she cares for.
Management are rude and they are always short staffed and do not care thoroughly for the aged clients, (with the exception of a few), which have the misfortune of being placed in their care. They are always too busy, or so they say, yet always complaining that they are short staffed. The ones that suffer are the elderly in their care. I wouldn't put my parent's in their care nor would, and even though I am experienced, and qualified I wouldn't work there.
