I do not have a good report ..... while my father was in hospital recovering from a fall within approx. 35 hours discharge from a previous hospital admission I was told that he wouldn't be accepted back into the aged care facility. Broken nose, broken finger and multiple facial fractures.

After all the horror stories that we have been seeing on TV, I was terrified at the thought of admitting my mother into a nursing home. I was dreading it even it more than most, since my mother had taught me from a very young age that I was not to put her in a nursing home. This culminated in a promise that she would die in her bed, at home, when she assigned me as her Power of Attorney. So, you imagine my dread when I had to admit her into a nursing home. I kept her at home as long as I could but her dementia worsened and I eventually had no choice. However, we were both pleasantly surprised with Elizabeth Lodge! It is incredibly well managed. Rae (the manger) is amazing! She knows absolutely everything about everything and everyone, all the time! The staff are caring, and respectful, yet abide by strict rules to ensure residents are safe and very well cared for. My mother needs a high level of care and the staff at Elizabeth Lodge do a great job! They ensure she is fed, clean and happy. I visit her every day at different times, so I can see exactly what is going on. Every day, I am pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and I am amazed at the high level of care and compassion that Elizabeth Lodge go out of their way to uphold. Well done Rae and your team! We should ask 4Corners to run a story on how an aged care facility should be run and get them over to film Elizabeth Lodge!
