Horrible experience. The first red flag for us was when they had RHAT tests outside for visitors but no one could be bothered checking results and reception staff wearing a mask on their chin. * Breakdown of communication between day and night shift. *unprofessional attitude (rude) *Room not cleaned properly over a number of weeks *Trying changing the price by $80k from what we were first told to having to sign a contract Extremely misleading and unprofessional service. Had my father in a different nursing home between 2020-21 and the service was professional, clean, caring and communicated clearly. Had to place my mother at Ferndale and they were the only nursing homes locally that had available space and it was a completely different experience. We had to remove her from there due to the inconsistencies and lack of empathy/ support provided. They say all the right things but actions speak louder than words. Even one star is too much but they did feed her but left her in her room for hours to cry. One shift would tell us not to contact her until she settles, the other shift would call and question why we aren’t calling. Vey distressing experience for both mum and us.

The staff on the ward are really nice, the food is decent and rooms are good. However I've taken off 2 stars because the ladies working on the front entrance are extremely rude and shouldn't be working near people, perhaps they would be better suited to working in the laundry.

My family and I couldn’t have asked for better care from the staff at Ferndale. My mother was kept comfortable and as pain free as possible as she was slowly overtaken by a nasty cancer. The nurses all knew her name and kept on top of her deteriorating condition. I also noticed the long term residents were happy and well cared for. The in house kitchen provided tasty home style meals that were always served hot. Full marks to all of the caring staff at Ferndale. I have no hesitation recommending this facility for your loved ones. Regards, Robert Pearce.

Very rude old lady at the door, was just doing a flower delivery to the reception. She rudely said things while I was waiting for the lady at reception. This was a very disturbing trip, never in my life have I experienced such rude encounter.

I'm only visiting, but wow - if I end up in a nursing home then let it be here. Lovely staff and great facilities. ☺
