So grateful to Hammondcare Waratah for allowing access to my mother throughout the Covid epidemic due to their innovative Partnering in Care program. Where many Aged Care facilities in Newcastle were locked down, Hammondcare were able to keep all residents Covid free and allow visiting with stringent hygiene controls. The staff have been very hardworking and pleasant to the residents despite the ongoing stress of the epidemic.
They are so very caring the Staff are wonderful my Husband has been there for over 6 years
Staff here are lovely. I only visited recently as a family friend had just passed away and the staff here were very compassionate and accommodating. Place is clean and tidy and has a happy vibe.
The place is nice and clean, the staff is hard working and friendly. But last time I visited there was and old lady in a wheelchair together with other in similar situation, I say hello, she didn't speak anymore, she didn't respond, I understood that she was no longer in control of any thing, her bib was vomited after the group was offered an icy pole, in a very hot day, but maybe it was not a good idea to give her the icy pole because when I touched her hands they were so cold that I thought she was dead, my companions and I were leaving at that time, one for them touched her hands too and was shocked to learn how cold she was. Then I looked around and thought yes, is a very hot day out there, but for them, that don't move, it was too could, all of them with blankets on top but still feeling could. I felt sad.
Disgusting place to work. Terrible treatment of residents especially dementia patients. I witnessed elder abuse beyond comprehension. Was failed on 14 criteria and hopefully gets shut down. Google Tinonee Gardens news
