The pick of facilities in Cairns for aged care. Attractive and modern environment for residents with, most importantly, excellent standard of care always delivered with compassion, and understanding. Peace of mind. Thank you.

I am very happy with the care and attention given to my wife, Pam. I am particularly impressed by all the staff who have a smile in their eyes and , no doubt , on their lips.

My husband, who is retired and at home most days, heard this morning a loud call for help from the aged care facility at Kewarra. This went on for about 10 minutes, it was obvious that someone has fallen or was injured, and his/her calls have not been heard by the staff. He looked up the facility’s number and called the office, after several rings the phone was answered, and he explained to the staff member what he heard and suggested someone walked around the grounds and helped the person as he/she sounded very distressed. He was told that “they were all in a meeting” and she will try to contact someone. Several minutes later the distressed calls continued, my husband then decided to walk around and through the fence he saw that an elderly lady in a wheelchair has fallen off the path and was trapped between the chair and the fence, she did not appear to be hurt but was very distressed. Through the fence he talked to the lady and try to comfort her by letting her know that he has spoken to a member of staff, and they were coming to help. More then 10 minutes went by, and no staff member came, he returned home and called the facility again, spoke to the same staff member and told them he was going to call the police or ambulance as this poor lady has been calling for help for at least 20 minutes. Shortly after that the distressing calls for help stopped. Through this page we expect to hear from the facility and provide a bloody good explanation why we should not proceed with a formal complaint to the appropriate authorities.

It is great to see people that care. NSW has this COVID GOLD RATING from the Federal government, well Kewerra Aged Care should have Double GOLD rating but that will not happen due to Cairns being in the greatest State in Australia. Great work keep it up. And look after your workers as it is them that got me to write this much. Thankyou.
