I Would like to thank Angela and her staff for looking after my family. I visit the home 3 to 4 times a week so I have got to know them all pretty well .I find them all very caring and helpful even the other residents. Angela always finds time to have a chat and let me known what is happening. Jenny has always got some kind of activities arranged like bingo, ball games and exercise which is really good for the residents. Zoe ,front desk on reception always has a welcoming smile for everyone. and lastly Susanne the Chaplain is one of the kindest caring people I have ever met she is also very cool for a church person. The setting is beautiful and the rooms are lovely and new - that is where the niceness end. This nursing home is horrible. While there are some staff who are beautiful and genuine in their care towards the residents and families- the main day staff are rude, lack compassion and should not be in the positions they are in. And the management know this and do nothing. Our experience was that we should never have taken our mother there. She was left in feces for hours and not changed, barely fed or given water, staff teased and commented rudely when changing her, swore around her regularly, the staff were allowed to speak in the community(while in uniform) about my mother and her business and we, the family, were abused in public by one of the uniformed staff for speaking out. I even found my mother with a dislocated finger and was told to go to the chemist for a splint as they were too busy. Care is obviously not a requirement of this facility. The management do not care what their staff are doing as numerous meetings and complaints about what was going on resulted in no changes. I was told I was complaining too much. My young sons and I regularly saw other residents teased, left crying for help for up to an hour and spoken about terribly. People who know me understand the concern and care I had for my mother and I can honestly say this was the most beautiful looking but nasty nursing home I have ever experienced. Management need to wake up and read the Charter of Aged Care they have openly displayed on the wall and not treat it as a space filler picture. Be very careful if you put your loved one in this facility and keep a very watchful eye on particular staff members as management certainly are not. (My statement/review can be backed up through email trails between myself, management and the Salvation Army management).
