I found an elderly lady on the street lost who lived at lifeview and they even know she was missing so I stayed with her till they picked her up at 10pm
My experience was not good, when I tried to follow up on my job interview to see how I went the lady who spoke to me was incredibly rude and wouldn't let me know why I wasn't excepted for the job....
I have never felt compelled enough to review anything importantly enough to bother with, but on this occasion I have to wish anyone to decides to put their elderly parent in this facility good luck. My mother spent some time at this aged care home (in the last eight months during covid) all because of a school friend who resides there. She wasn't overly impressed of the treatment of her bed bound friend and decided this was not the home for her. She has since chosen to reside at a smaller facility with less smoke and mirrors and frivolous appearances and where she gets much better care. Travelling from her own nursing home my mum tried to revisit her friend, treated very poorly on arrival and ultimately refused entry. All because they would not co-operate by contacting mums nursing home to validate her covid vaccination status. Not all old ladies who live in nursing homes are adept with iphones to prove their vaccination status or carry around with them all paperwork when they seldom go out and especially back to a place where they've resided and would still hold their health records. I am so glad we did not pick this one for mum. A visit that would have meant so much to two old women was prevented by inept, lazy and heartless representatives for this front of a business machine.
After My father in law passed away suddenly after 63yrs of marriage, and a primary career for my mother in-law we were in a heart wrenching position to find a place to take care of her. We knew this was going to be traumatic for my mother in law who was not only grieving but moving into a strange place. We thought we had found the perfect place. We were sold. Caters for dementia patients, beautiful, modern and given assurances that care would be taken and all patients go through a settling in period. After the 1st night, my husband was greeted with ”We don't think it's going to work. She is not suited. She was calling out during the night and disrupting other residents. We can't afford to lose 6 residents! I hope you have a Plan B" We were shocked, mortified and devastated! What happened to the settling in period? Where is the compassion and empathy? Why was she continuing to call out? Why could the staff not settle her? Where was the expert care we were promised? With no alternative options or discussion on how we could make things work we were told “this is not going to work". Willow Wood had made a decision after ONE night, that she was not suited. Please be cautious when considering this place to look after your loved one. The trauma and upheaval my mother in law experienced, not to mention the stress they put us through is inexcusable. They gave up on us after one night! No warning, no discussion, just pack up and go you are too hard. Our loved ones deserve better, please save yourself the heartache.
I have worked as a volunteer at this place for nearly a year, attending once a week. Every week I speak to the residents and only hear fantastic comments about the very caring staff and delicious food. It's very clean, modern ,with numerous activities held daily and occasional outings. It's a fantastic place and it's one that I would be happy to be a resident at when the time comes.
