While my gran was relatively happy here and the support staff are lovely, there were a few times I had concerns about the level of care she received. I found her once calling for help from the bathroom and there were some medical issues that weren't addressed in a timely manner. I do however feel that the junior staff made her very happy. She very much enjoyed the frequent visits and chats by the young staff and despite not being especially interested in the other residents, didn't appear to feel lonely.
This place is great and marvellous when visiting, the inside is tidy and nice decor. Even a reception as well. Just sign in then sign oyt The phone Number is in directory, or 1223 situared in Nundah.
Staff here really take such great care of my grandmother and each person has a genuine interest in her well being. It makes it easier to know that she is being cared for and loved while all of her family are not able to be by her side
I'm glad to see the elders are being treated fairly in this retirement village. Sadly, I only wish I could say that the owner/managemnet of this village treat and extend that kindness to their neighbours also. I have rented the property on 2/40 Union street throughout 3 years. Within the first two weeks I moved in I came to realise that there was living mould beneath the old carpets in both the living room as well as in the toilets. I called up the realestate and recieved the landlord's number of this village - I briefly summed up the situation asking if maybe she could get the mould removed - when she practically screamed at me saying "how did you get my number!" and it soon become pretty clean she did not even want to know me apart from of course when she recieved my weekly rent. The next day I recieved a notice to leave, which they retracted after I called up the realestate and said well, I guess don't worry about the mould. At the time I moved in I had just lost my job and I did not have the means to move out. For the last 2 years I've been working with Uber, which also weren't really giving me enough to afford moving out. Only last month when I got a job with the counsel - did I finally get the opportunity to move. While I lived there - the lawn initially belonging to the property got made into a carpark (without informing me or a rent reduction). Furthermore, the tree giving me a bit of privacy got cut at 6' oclock in the morning one day (again - I was not informed). Furthermore, nothing was ever maintained inside or outside the property and the mould in the asbestos walls had grown into a serious health hazard even though I had myself tried to get rid of it a few times. To top it of - when the new construction started across the street (again I had not been notified of this) I woke up one morning to see 4 pretty permanent workers toilets planted practically in my backyard - for the workers on site. For the way I've been treated and the way my health has suffered - I have never been offered a cent of compensation. The Bible said and it still is true: You shall treat your neighbour like you would treat yourself - sadly this practice appears elusive to the catholic church - at least when it comes to earning money. If I hadn't been able to move out they would have made me sign another 12 months lease - nothing less - without even considering the circumstance. I was informed by the real estate that they still are trying to rent it out for the same $240 a week I have been charged weekly during the three years I lived there. I hope no one is desperate enough to rent that place - but if someone else ends up getting trapped there - may God be with them.
This is where i am working with Good management and good staff. Since i came to Australia the best people I never seen in my life are at LCC. Hope god is with them a Thank you so much
