Wonderful place and staff until your parent becomes ‘difficult’, and then …. ** Edited at Manoah’s request for more information - information they already have, as I had previous correspondence and lengthy meetings with both the facility manager and the former CEO regarding their determination to re-home my Mum. However, assuming Manoah’s request is sincere, I will provide a summary in good faith. Time, for me, has not healed. Initially, I could not speak more highly of Manoah and the care provided to my Mum by the care staff. However, once Mum was perceived as being ‘difficult’, instead of working with our family to ensure the best and safest care for my Mum, I, as Mum’s Guardian, was lied to and steamrolled with documents to justify Manoah’s right to expel my mother from their Home. The CEO at the time, followed up with implied legal threats leaving me no option but to agree to re-home Mum, at her most vulnerable, to a new care facility: new small room, new limited surrounds, new routines and, significantly, new and fewer staff - all this for an advanced dementia patient to cope with. This is the opposite of what Research recommends regarding the care of dementia patients. I was, and still am, absolutely devastated with this callous treatment, and the former CEO’s dismissal of my concern for my Mum, and his inability to see my mother as a vulnerable person. I am still angry and hurt. This was my Mum! The situation could, and should, have been handled with care, empathy and compassion. It was not.

A nursing home whether wealthy or run in a shoestring budget is only as good as it’s staff Manoah has wonderful caring, respectful staff and I am so pleased that my mum had the opportunity to be there for her end of life. The management and Pastoral support was wonderful Our family can’t thank them enough ❤️
