First Aged Care facility I’ve worked in that actually is Person Centred, ensuring all their residents are enjoying their time and providing a place for all to feel welcomed.
Maroba exceeded all expectations in every way as they cared for my Dad. On his first day there he said, "I feel like someone really important!" And that feeling continued. Many of the staff seemed to genuinely love him. He was treated with dignity and respect. All efforts were made to include him in social events. Highly recommended.
My mother has been a resident at for almost 2 years and she is very happy here. She is cared for with sincerity and love. The staff are all to be commended. I as a Newcastle Photographer recently donated a huge 1.5m Framed image of the Nobbys Head Landmark with words on it thanking the staff for all the care and love they bestow upon my mother and all the residents here at Maroba. My mind is at ease knowing mum is beautifuuly cared for.
Our family is extremely satisfied with the care and attention given to our Mum in the dementia wing of Maroba. ANNETTE has to be commended for going above and beyond what is expected. Our thanks to all. Bless you !!
The food isn't great, but that's par for the course. For some years we had constant problems with late medication and insufficient attention given to medical needs. That seems to have improved in the last six months. In the past when there was something wrong our family members had to make all the phone calls to GPs to get it fixed, sometimes taking hours out of the day when it should be the staff's responsibility to fix it. This also seems to have improved in the last six months. They clearly suffer from an industry problem where nursing homes look after the elderly but stable, hospitals look after the elderly seriously ill, but no one looks after elderly patients with chronic illness who need regular medical adjustments to their care but not enough for hospitalisation.
