Legally I am able to make the decision for my nan to have CPR, I choose everytime for this option to go ahead no matter what happens if she has stopped breathing I want somebody to perform CPR My nan was on oxygen and died at the nursing home when I collected her things and looked at the breathing tube it was filled with debris making it hard for the oxygen to flow it had not been changed to a new tube, her room was never cleaned also and the nurse told me (they didn’t perform CPR) and try to revive her, my nans friend visited her an hour before her death and she noted that she was having a harder time than usual breathing and went to have a nap because it was exhausting her, when you ask questions they have no sympathy and don’t bother I’m not even sure why I am the one who has to reach out to ask even when I do they give no proper response or consideration, I wish that my nan was never in this care home it was so lonely for her due to the restrictions they always had in place continuously ringing and asking them to open the front sliding doors to let me in was horrible and having the building shut down on Christmas for weeks was damaging to the elderly that where stuck in there room alone, they have covid test at the doors that they can make you take a test before entering, if that’s what they want you to do but still closed down and refused to let you take them out due to there restrictions even when you could take a test and the choice is really up to families if they want to enter. they where controlling and it made my nan really sad and feel alone the amount of times I went there only to be refused or to ring the buzzer multiple times was just awful

Iam writing this review on this place as I found it to be very horrific and disheartening. My mother was wanting to visit her mum as she wasn't aloud to visit in the nursing home which add my mother use to always visit her mother when she lived at home... but going by my mothers so called sisters which add has never been apart of our lives "NEVER"!!never had we had anything to do with them cause they have chosen it to be this way and my mother has never been well and don't meet there expectations thats there reason and even my mother has begged to see her mother and there was no reasoning with her sisters cause they have gardianship over the mum, even l have tryed to bring in a 3rd party mediation to come with a solution and they have bluntly said no and there was no reasoning with them for the sake of my mother to visit her mum she had no chance from her sisters to let my mother visit her mum l cant believe my mother had to beg to see her mother cause she is not well herself as iam my mothers daughter i have explained to the management the situation with my mothers family and the staff and management didnt care with what I had to say this is a spiteful act they have caused for my mother to never visit her mum. They have put a stop for my mum to visit her mother in the nursing home and have bullied my mums mum to sighn a paper for her to not visit and the nusing home has allowed this to happen with knowing the reason when i have tryed to explain to them nor does my mother have a criminal record not allowing my mother ever see her mother again or speak to her mother by the phone,I have found this to be a cruel act and very hurtful for my mother as she will never have the chance one on one to speak or see her mum again as we know she is not well either. How this be allowed cause the siblings have nothing to do with the other sibling dont have the right to dictate the other one from seeing there parent its a very spiteful act and very wrong in many levels for this to be allowed and the management has allowed this, its not right not to allow her mother to tell her by face or a call if she doesn't want to not by the management to say, shame on this place to let this happen.

I was very happy with the care that my mother received at Melva McDonald and the food there was very nice. I have had a few meals there myself which you can order and pay for at the receptionist desk. There was always food available to the residents which there should be as it is there home. At Melva McDonald Lodge they took the care of the residents as their main priority. I was kept informed about any issues with my mothers. I wish that I could have left her at Melva McDonald instead of moving her to a place near family.

Best Nursing home ever. I have seen lots of nursing homes but this one is number 1. I would highly recommend this organisation to everyone! Very friendly staff and beautiful environment!

Wonderful place - more like a hotel, open, cheerful and bright. Starting from arranging my mother's entry into the facility, the staff were kind, compassionate and helpful. The food was good and mum loved getting her colourful menu every day. With dining rooms on every floor, the atmosphere in them was cozy and intimate. I regret I had to move my mother to a facility closer to me as she was much happier at Malvern McDonald Lodge. Bless all the lovely people - starting from the reception desk, working there..
