A special thanks to Claire, Harry and Russ for making this stage of dad's life much more than just manageable. My mother has been at Merrimac park for the last six years, the last two of which have been in the dementia unit. I could not be more happy with the level of care and compassion that the staff have shown to my mother and the support that they have provided to our family.
My Mum moved to MPPC in April and I could not be happier with her placement there. Every staff member I have encountered has been friendly and professional. The building is always clean and well maintained. I am kept well informed about my Mum nd the goings on in the community. My Mum has adjusted well to living there and is comfortable and happy. I can't think of a single thing to fault .
My mother was at Wellington Park for 3 years. Every time I would visit her she would explain to me how happy she was to be living there and what wonderful team of happy cheerful staff who were always available to assist when needed. She told me that the food was very tasty and housekeeping in the bedroom and bathroom cleaning was excellent. She never had a complaint. She always enjoyed taking walks along the concrete pathway at the open acreage animal farm on the property and sitting in the shelter and watching the pony, goats, sheep and ducks, geese and chooks. Well done and thanks to the team of staff at Wellington Park, home of superior care.
My mother was in the Dementia Care at Merrimac Park for over 2 years. I found the staff to be so good to both my mother and myself. It is not an easy place for those who work their because life working with Dementia is both difficult for the family and those who care for our loved one. I can't complain about the care the staff gave to her. Prior to my mum living there she could become a very angry person on many occasions, but after a few months she was always smiling and happy and looked upon Raffles Ward at Merrimac being her home. Even though she didn't know who I was most of the time, she enjoyed her visit and showed in many ways how much she like being there. I miss her very much, but I know that her time spent at Merrimac made her feel safe, happy and cared for in her environment. Because routine is so important for Dementia patients, we could not give this to her in the same way at home before her life came to a end. Thank you to all working in Raffles Ward who took such good care of my mother Valma Bell and to Claire Johnston who may us feel so welcome with our enquirers when we first went to Merrimac Private Care.
