Place is run by a General Manager who is not a nurse. Staff require more training, and there is a lack of staff, especially at night and on the weekend. They leave my relative, who is blind, in a room with no phone or way to contact staff. Medication, that is required to be given on time, my relative states is often hours late. Private phone calls have to be made at reception. My relative was concerned about falling. General Manager could not understand the concern. When contacted about the lack of care, General Manager was rude and was unconcerned- unprofessional, he is just a General Manager, not a Director of Nursing. The General Manager stated that he would look into my concerns, and return my call- no call has been received. My relative states that they still haven't got a phone, staff do not leave items in the same place, and there is no way to contact staff. Be concerned if the person running an aged care facility has no background in nursing, they used to be called nursing homes- not aged care facilities (more like profit facilities). EDIT- Rang the number as advised, asked about the qualifications of this person, was advised that this person is not a Registered Nurse. So I conclude that it is of little value to discuss this, it should be mandatory that Registered Nurses should be in management positions. Therefore, I will be making a formal complaint to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, especially as we have evidence of the above

This place is very pleasant. I had my mum stay here for a 2 week respite so I could recover from surgery. A month prior to mums stay I was able to go for a tour and speak with the site manager about mum and her needs. So I was confident that this place was good for mum. Nurses were lovely and took good care of mum. My only concern was the food. My mum is pescetarian. Has been for over 12 years. This diet helps maintain her diabetes. Although the site claims to cater to all diets, mum was served the same dish for 4 days before something different was served to her. Still grateful she got to eat.

Very very disappointed about management of this aged care. Call me for interview and booked the interview. When I reached there they cancel my interview saying that they already found the successful candidate. I think that’s not the way how you treat the candidates for interview.

My dad is new to being in aged care. The admin and reception staff are very friendly and accomodating. Most of the care staff during the week were friendly and interacted well with the residents. On the weekend the staff, not so much.

I've been there multiple times for sick patients. Many of the nursing staff speak poor English (or pretended to). Each time I've come, my patient was very sick, and had been so for at least 2 days (one for what must have been an agonizing week). I believe the patients I've attended required medical treatment far sooner than when what was provided (it seem they'd rather wait for shift changeover to let the next nurses deal with the problem). It also seems that on arrival the nurses disappear and have the usual excuse of "this isn't my normal work area" or "I've just come on shift and don't know about the situation" leaving me scrambling to get some kind of paperwork and handover. Poor effort compared to other nursing homes and if you're considering sending your loved ones here I'd do some further research.
