They have always given my grandparents the best of care I am a regular visitor as a person with a disability they treat me as if the other family member visiting there their loved one the rooms are large and roomy they treated my grandfather with respect and dignity and in his final days and continue to look after my grand mother in the best possible way
I speak on behalf of my entire family when I say we are proud of the care, compassion, knowledge and experience that Shawford Lodge in Innaloo provided to my Grandma at her time there Sadly my Grandma passed away on 27th March aged 98, but for the 2-3 years she was here the staff did everything they could to support my Grandma 'Ronnie' in whatever way possible which I witnesses on many occasions as I was there almost every week. They all have such caring hearts and showed genuine care, compassion and support to my Grandma and every other resident I saw there. I don't understand how some people could write such negative reviews because anyone can see how caring the staff are and how great Shawford Lodge treats their residents along with the people visiting them. Shawford Lodge is organised, clean and well maintained. They hire the right staff with the right knowledge, training and personalities to ensure our loved ones are looked after. Thank you Shawford Lodge, not only did my Grandma say how nice you all were to her, but we saw it ourselves in your caring actions to her and others every day. I will recommend Shawford Lodge Innaloo to all our family and friends who seek advice on nursing homes. God Bless You Shawford Lodge and your lovely staff. You made her final years much more comfortable and I will never forget any of you for the genuine care you showed in supporting my Grandma, xx
The quality of the facility itself and the exorbitant deposit required to secure a bed, leads one to think that their loved ones would be receiving the very best care. Unfortunately this is not the case. All Shawford excels at is their sales pitch. I have to repeatedly request that staff perform the most basic of care and despite multiple meetings over the past 3 yrs, I continue to have to do so. I could only recommend this facility if you hate your family member and wish to pay large amounts of money to make them suffer the indignities of not being showered regularly, not have their finger and toenails maintained, or their teeth cleaned for so long that you can see the build up of plaque (not to mention smell it). It is heartbreaking to see and deal with this on a regular basis instead of being able to relax and enjoy the time you have left with the family member you love dearly. Places for beds in Aged Care Facilities have waiting lists and are hard to get into, make sure you choose better than I did!
Staff are always kind and supportive of the residents which is what the main thing is. Whenever I am there, the residents seem happy and always have something to do
