Took my mum in for respite, warm, loving, professional and very supportive staff. Thank you so much
Exceptional people, every single one of them. I am so great full we stumbled on to Opal Shoalhaven when my mother needed care. The accommodation is light clean and functional, the menu is well considered and of good quality however it's the compassionate caring staff that make Opal a special place. When ever I visited every one was on top of my mothers needs, concerned about her welfare providing a very high level of care. Dementia patients can be come distressed and agitated and each time that situation didn't go on for very long before a staff member stepped in to provide what they needed or to calm and distract them. Its an outstanding example of what age care should be. Thank you I will be eternally grateful for your humanity.
My mum has been a resident at Opal Nursing Home Bomaderry for nearly two years. Mum has advancing dementia from Alzheimer's. Mum is always happy when I walk in to see her. I am amazed at how kind the staff have always been at this home. It's heartbreaking to watch mum decline but the staff at Bomaderry constantly go out of their way to update me, to comfort Mum and to even me, when they see that either of us are sad. I really can't believe how the staff members are consistently cheerful, when they are faced with very tough circumstances every day. Thank you to each and everyone one of you, from the bottom of my heart!
The staff at this facility are such kind and caring people who really go the extra mile to care for the residents. We greatly appreciated all they did for our mother Norma for the months she was a resident. Through difficult and challenging times they cared for her and treated her with such kindness and dignity. We can't express the gratitude we feel for their actions over this time.
I cannot praise this wonderful facility enough. Whenever I turn up, I find staff have engaged my mother in activities, or conversation, or a podiatrist has been organised (doing her feet). (These are big loads off a families shoulders especially podiatry as our mother can object to such a visit). The home is always clean smelling, no patients are left unattended (or they are resting if they are) but you know staff are on top of absolutely everything. It's not like they are understaff - but 'well' staffed. Their focus is on nurturing, comfort, and keeping residents stimulated (or mentally engaged). All staff are friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile. It was our worst fear to put Mum into a home, and we went as far as we could (before we had a break-down). But Opal in Bomaderry really deserve an award for high standards. Our family are so relieved to know our mother is in great care. Thank you so much Opal!
