My mum has advanced dementia and has been at Tuohy for nearly a year. I would give 5 stars for the staff, who are amazing, and the garden which is so wonderful for my mum who is used to acreage to walk around on. Free access to the lovely gardens and shady mature trees makes a huge difference to her quality of life, as does the kind care she receives there. As she says, "They look after me like I am royalty!" I give 3 stars for the old building, which can't be helped, and the meals, which mum sometimes reports as good and sometimes not so good. On the whole, though, Tuohy's has been a blessing after the last (fancier) place where mum was very unhappy, and we are very grateful for them now that she is beyond my ability to care for her at home. Big thumbs up to the staff, who are absolute saints!

I went there to applay for a job, but the lady was so unkind and rude, she didn't want to give me any information, I won't back there anymore , I wouldn't like to work there !!! Poor old people 😢

Firstly i believe it is inappropriate to write a review on here unless you have raised the matter with staff and the facility manager first. A couple of reviews on here appear unfounded and destructive which is disappointing when a lot of people work so hard , and genuinely care for the residents. My mother has advanced dementia and has been here for three years and i am extremely grateful for the care and love she receives. I therefore believe i am qualified to comment, also i worked as a Registered Nurse myself for 36 years and worked at this facility at least three times. Whilst Tuohy may not be as flash as some of the newer facilities people need to look deeper and understand appearances can be superficial . Tuohy now has wonderful gardens and a feeling of freedom , New ideas and approaches are in place. The staff work really hard and often people forget this , i know i have been there and done that.So instead of nit picking i think we should give praise where it is due.

Excellent friendly staff, all the way from the ever professional and helpful admin/reception and nursing staff to the bubbly and fastidious cleaners and kitchen staff. Many activities are held in the home as well as short walk day trips and bus trips to outer locations. Event days such as Easter or Melbourne cup etc. are always held in high regard with festivities and special event meals. Nails are done regularly for all residents as are massage and hair appointments. Family are considered important to the residents welfare and are included in the special days and activities, as well as being informed and included in their loved ones lives...whether it be a cuppa tea and a smile from the tea lady or some comfort and some support from the admin team. Tuohy is a beautiful and respectful place for your loved ones.

DO NOT PUT ANYONE IN HERE!! They do not seem to look after old people at all. Clothes and belongings constantly being stolen, We have to constantly ask the nurses to cut her nails (IT IS THERE JOB) She was attacked by another patient on a few occasions and this person was never thrown out and now my nan lives in fear because this lady was never kicked out of the facility.
