Having a background in Nursing helps me to compare the quality of care provided by Opal with leading private hospitals and other aged care facilities. I am highly appreciate of the care provided to my elderly mother-in-law. At both the physical & nutritional levels Opal is a standout. I've been involved with some of the glass & chrome homes which can be let down by indifferent or overworked staff. Opal is the reverse. They rank highly with regard to the care offered. Their General Manager Vick, at their Wahroongah home, is very personable and helpful. He enjoys interacting with residents and surprises me with how well he knows their names and individual needs. Vick works with a highly dedicated and warm team. This is an aged care facility that can be trusted to look after your loved ones and give them a good quality of life. Thanks to all the staff at Opal. Life is so much less stressful knowing my mother-in-law is being so well cared for. Kerryanne L.

I would highly consider this facility for your loved ones. The staff are really caring and enjoy spending time with the residents to ensure that each and everyone can be accommodated for.
I have been living now at the formerly named Netherby Aged Care Facility since October 2018, so over 2 years. I have a very nice room, with its own bathroom and close to the open verandah, where I often sit to enjoy my meals. I have always found the nursing staff to be incredibly caring and helpful, while the food service has gone up many notches following the appointment of the new chef, Bimal, around 3 months ago. We also have 2 very dedicated Lifestyle staff, in Maria and Millie, who are skilful in organising interesting and challenging activities and entertainment. We have regular visits by a physiotherapist, as well as the services of a podiatrist and an audiologist. Overall, my satisfaction with my life at Wahroonga Place is very high and I enjoy an excellent relationship wth the new Opal Facility Manger, Santosh, whom I consult frequently with my feedback and ideas. You can sum it all up by saying I'm a very happy camper here.
Every time there is a power outage an alarm consistently blasts through the neighbourhood. Tonight it’s been going for at least 3 hours and hasn’t been resolved yet. Last time it was at least 2 1/2hours. I can only imagine what those poor residents ,staff & neighbours are going through. Management needs to address this immediately. Terrible conduct and appalling conditions to let anyone live in. Update- 5 days later alarms been going off again. I’m two unit blocks away and can hear it as it slowly drives me insane. Imagine being in a bedroom on the premises. Then imagine suffering dementia and having this kind of treatment or lack of care. I called and asked the nurse and she seemed upset with me Last time as she’d been calling people trying to fix it. I was polite, just seeing if she was aware of it. Trying to assist in a resolution. Red flags in my book.
